Registered office: LSC House, Murray Road, Orpington, England, BR5 3QY Privacy enquiries: privacy@darkrushmusic.com General enquiries: hello@darkrushmusic.com
This Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal information when you visit our website, contact us, submit music, join our mailing list, attend or enquire about events, work with us, or otherwise interact with DarkRush Music.
2INFORMATION WE MAY COLLECT
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- identity and contact information, such as name, email address, telephone number, organisation and role;
- correspondence and enquiry information;
- demo-submission information, including artist/project name, biography, links, genre, message and any information contained in material you choose to send;
- professional information relating to artists, writers, producers, team members, press contacts, suppliers and business partners;
- newsletter preferences and consent records;
- event, press, licensing, partnership and business-enquiry information;
- technical and usage information, such as pages viewed, outbound-link events, browser/device information and security logs, where permitted;
- cookie and consent preferences;
- information needed to protect our Site, investigate abuse or comply with law; and
- any other information you voluntarily provide.
Please do not send special-category or highly sensitive personal information unless it is genuinely necessary and we have asked for it.
3HOW WE OBTAIN INFORMATION
We may receive information:
- directly from you through forms, email, telephone, meetings or submissions;
- from people or organisations acting on your behalf;
- from artists, managers, distributors, collecting societies, rights holders, service providers and professional contacts;
- from publicly available professional sources and social platforms; and
- automatically from our Site where permitted by applicable privacy and electronic-communications law.
4WHY WE USE PERSONAL INFORMATION AND OUR LAWFUL BASES
We use personal information only where we have a lawful basis. Depending on the activity, this may include:
Contract or steps before a contract — to discuss, enter into or administer agreements, licences, bookings, services or other commercial relationships.
Legitimate interests — to operate and improve DarkRush Music; manage professional relationships; respond to appropriate business enquiries; administer our catalogue and roster; prevent fraud and misuse; secure our systems; maintain records; and understand our audience using proportionate, privacy-conscious methods. We consider and balance these interests against your rights.
Consent — where you choose to receive electronic marketing, enable optional analytics/cookies, or where consent is otherwise the appropriate basis. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Legal obligation — where we need to comply with tax, accounting, regulatory, court, law-enforcement or other legal requirements.
We may use more than one lawful basis where different processing activities apply.
5DEMO SUBMISSIONS
Demo submissions are reviewed for A&R and related business purposes. We may store the submitter’s contact details, project information, private streaming links, notes and submission status so our authorised team can evaluate and manage the submission.
Submitting a demo does not guarantee that we will listen, respond or offer any relationship. Please also read our Demo Submission Terms before submitting material.
We do not ask you to transfer ownership of your music merely by submitting a demo.
6NEWSLETTERS AND DIRECT MARKETING
Where required, we send marketing emails only where you have actively chosen to receive them or another lawful route is available. You can unsubscribe using the link in a marketing message or by contacting us.
We keep appropriate records of subscription, consent and unsubscribe requests. We do not treat acceptance of this Privacy Policy as consent to marketing.
7COOKIES, ANALYTICS AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES
We use essential storage where necessary for security, sessions and preferences. Optional analytics or other non-essential storage/access technologies are used only in accordance with applicable consent requirements.
You can change your choices using “Cookie settings” in the footer. See our Cookie Policy for more information.
8WHO WE MAY SHARE INFORMATION WITH
Where necessary and subject to appropriate safeguards, we may share personal information with:
- hosting, IT, security, email and infrastructure providers;
- newsletter and communications providers;
- distributors, DSPs, rights-management and royalty/accounting providers;
- professional advisers, insurers, auditors and accountants;
- artists, managers, publishers, booking partners, venues, promoters and production partners where relevant;
- press, PR, creative and marketing suppliers where appropriate;
- payment or commerce providers if those services are introduced;
- regulators, courts, law-enforcement bodies or public authorities where required; and
- a buyer, investor or successor in connection with a genuine corporate transaction.
We do not sell personal information to advertisers.
9INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS
Some suppliers or platforms may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where UK data-protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we use an appropriate lawful mechanism, such as UK adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to approved standard contractual clauses, or another permitted safeguard.
10HOW LONG WE KEEP INFORMATION
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including legal, accounting, rights-management, security and dispute-resolution requirements.
Typical retention depends on context. General enquiries may be deleted when no longer needed; marketing records are kept while you remain subscribed and for a reasonable suppression period afterwards; unsuccessful demo submissions and associated A&R notes are periodically reviewed and deleted or anonymised when no longer useful; contractual, rights and accounting records may need to be retained for longer statutory or evidential periods.
We may retain minimal information where necessary to honour an unsubscribe, suppression, legal claim or security requirement.
11SECURITY
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information, including access controls, administrative permissions, authentication, session controls, secure transport where supported, backups and logging. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
12YOUR DATA-PROTECTION RIGHTS
Subject to the conditions and exemptions in applicable law, you may have rights to:
- be informed about how your information is used;
- request access to your personal information;
- ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- request erasure in certain circumstances;
- request restriction of processing;
- object to certain processing, including direct marketing;
- receive certain information in a portable format;

To exercise a right, contact privacy@darkrushmusic.com. We may need to verify your identity.
You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). We would appreciate the opportunity to address your concern first, but this does not affect your right to contact the ICO.
13CHILDREN
Our Site is not designed as a service specifically for children. Children merit particular protection when their personal information is used. If we know that an interaction involves a child, we will consider age, capacity, the child’s best interests and the need for clear, age-appropriate information and safeguards.
If you are under 18 and are considering sending contractual, commercially sensitive or substantial personal information, we encourage you to involve a parent, guardian or appropriate adult. If you believe a child has provided information inappropriately, contact privacy@darkrushmusic.com.

Our Site links to third-party platforms. Their processing is governed by their own privacy notices. We are not responsible for how an independent third party handles your information.
